Jack and Clay
I have been so worn out that I had to take a blog break but now I am back but I can’t say I feel very rested. It is my fault though. I have a hard time not staying busy.
But I wanted to share some more pictures of our project at the cabin. We are done working on it for this year but there is still more we plan to do.
This is the skirt I sewed for around the kitchen sink counter.

We went to the Chick-Fil-A at Chris’s work for Cow appreciation day (Chick-Fil-A gives away free entrees to any one dressed in a cow costume). The kids were very popular since there was no other kids in costumes.
We started trying to potty train Gates Memorial day weekend. It has been a nightmare! Gates has not been interested at all! We have really good days and really bad days. He finally went poop on the potty last Friday and has done it on the potty ever since. I really hope this means we are getting it. I have been bribing him with a Dino Sunday from Brusters and we finally got to go get one. I am so proud.
I know it was over a week ago but it was a fun day I don’t want to forget so here is a recap of our 4th of July celebrations. Gates was really excited about the 4th because it was a birthday party for America and he LOVES birthday parties. Is obsession with birthday parties mostly consist of his obsession with cupcakes and cake. So, I made cupcakes!
We went and saw the parade. Gates’ favorite part was all the firemen that gave him high fives.
Teddy and Jack were busy bodies that would not sit still.

Gates was in heaven jumping and climbing on all the jumpy things.
We enjoyed the concert on the square with some friends and then the fireworks.

I am determined to become an expert seamstress! Actually, I will settle for just capable seamstress. It all started with really wanting custom curtains in our family room, the kind that cost a fortune that we do not have. So, I am going to have to make them myself, but I have to learn how first. Before I tackle such a prominent and big project I figured I need a little practice. A good place to start was making a skirt to go around the kitchen sink counter at the cabin we are renovating. I managed to accomplish this so things are looking good.
This is a kinda random project but since I have the sewing machine out I am also making cow costumes. Why am I making cow costumes you ask? Because, Friday is Cow Appreciation day but of course! So I am working on my herd of 3 cows. Here is my progress.
I will be sure to get pictures of the herd. Also, before anyone gets their hopes up, Chris and I have no plans to be cows.
I am so fortunate to have so many wonderful friends and especially my girl Chrissy! She came to visit me this past weekend and we had a blast. Unfortunately, I still had to play the role of mom but we got a little time just the two of us to go hang out. Chrissy did a blog about the trip to fill every one in.
Here are a couple random photos from the camera phone.

Teddy and Jack are both wanting to feed themselves with utensils. This is Jack, who is getting pretty good at it.
Since it is too hot to go outside Chris and the boys enjoyed watching Star Wars. The are all probably too young for Star Wars but it all started because the Star Wars underwear were the the only ones left in Gates size so then I had to show him a YouTube clip of it to get him excited about his new big boy underwear which lead to Chris deciding we need to watch all the old movies.
I thought Gates had gotten over his thing for not sleeping in his bed at night but the other night we found him sleeping like this.
Then the next day at nap time.
Teddy sleeps with his arms around his Teddy bear.
