Merry WHITE Christmas!

Merry Christmas! We have been celebrating this special time of year by being thankful for the most wonderful gift, the gift of our Savior, Jesus Christ and also all the wonderful blessings in our life.

Christmas Eve we went to a beautiful service at our church.
Christmas morning checking out what uncle Scott got.
Reading a book he got from Santa.
Eating some party mix.

Gates enjoyed the box his toy came in more then the toys them self.
It is snowing in Georgia! We haven't had measurable snow in Georgia for Christmas in over 100 years. It's crazy but we are enjoying it.

Christmas Greeting

Christmas cards have been sent!

This is the top of the inside of our card. The bottom of the card has a picture of Gates with Santa, a picture of the new house with our new address and the news about the twins.

I am so in love with our cards this year. I got to add lots of pictures and some highlights of our year but didn't have to write some long wordy newsletter. I highly recommend Shutterfly for cards and while you are at makes some other gifts, I did!

House update

Here is a sneak peak at the house which is moving along very fast. If things go as the builder says we should be moving in in less then 3 weeks! That might be too good to be true, but we will see!
Notice the painter starting to paint the one shutter to see the color of the rest of the shutters and front door.

WAR EAGLE!!!!!!!!

" I believe in AUBURN, and love it!"

War...Eagle, fly down the field, Ever to conquer, never to yield.

War...Eagle fearless and true.

Fight on, you orange and blue.

Go! Go! Go!

On to vic'try, strike up the band,Give 'em hell, give 'em hell.

Stand up and yell, Hey!

War...Eagle, win for Auburn,Power of Dixie Land!

In case you live under a rock, Auburn is going to the National Championship!!!!!!!!

In honor of this wonderful occasion I bought an ornament to go on the Christmas tree. Of course, I already have Auburn ornaments but they are all packed up.

Meeting baby Cole

Last Sunday Chris, Gates and I drove over to Birmingham for the day to meet one of my best friends new baby and visit with friends. I brought my camera but as usual I forgot to get it out, so the best I have are these couple of pictures from my phone.
Baby Cole was so precious.

This is what being pregnant with twins at 20 weeks looks like.

Tour of homes

Another one of my favorite things about Christmas is the holiday tour of homes. I love seeing inside other peoples houses and especially when they are decorated for Christmas. This years tour schedule is as follows:

Marietta Pilgrimage Christmas Home Tour: I grew up in Marietta and love the history of all the old houses. Dec. 4 and 5

Virginia-Highlands Tour of Homes Dec 11 and 12: We attended this one last year for the first time last year and it was our favorite. Probably, because each house had a local restaurant serving up tasters of their specialties. If you are familiar with the Virginia-Highlands restaurants you know that there are tons of good places to eat so this was an extra treat on top of all the gorgeous houses.

Grant Park Candlelight Tour of Homes Dec. 11 and 12: This one is not a definite yet but I really enjoy this one because this one is in the evening so you get to see all the Christmas lights and the houses are lit with candles. Sorry no picture.

First (professional) Haircut

I have been giving Gates hair cuts since he was only a couple months old but they always look a little goofy because he will never sit still for me. So, we got our first professional haircut the other day. Gates was so well behaved, he didn't squirm like does for me. It really helped that he got to sit in a race car that had buttons for him to push that made noises.

This was after but he wouldn't look at me to give me a good picture.

Thanksgiving

As usual, I had the camera sitting out so I wouldn't forget to take some pictures of the Thanksgiving festivities but I still forgot. I did capture this precious moment of Gates laughing at his Aunt and enjoying getting to see his great grandmother, Mimi.

Go Jackets!

Georgia Tech boy in the making, or Auburn. We don't want to be those pushy parents that insist that their child goes to one particular school. We are supportive and will be sure that he knows he has options. Gates (and the twins), can go to either Georgia Tech or Auburn! Two great options. Auburn didn't play this past weekend so we were Tech fans.

Pottery Barn advent calender

I have been eyeing this adorable Christmas advent calender from Pottery Barn.

But, it also looks like a fun DIY project. Bumblebee and Sophie blog took on the challenge of making her own and it is inspiring. When I get energy, time and a house to hang this I plan on making my own.

Christmas Cards!

Christmas cards are so exciting! I put a lot of thought into this special greeting that I like to think spreads a little Christmas cheer to all my friends and family. Christmas cards definitely add to my holiday cheer. Chris and I get so excited when the Christmas cards start coming in. We proudly display them all till the end of the holidays. Then on Christmas when the family gets together we all bring our Christmas cards we have received to share. We all agree that our favorite cards are the photo cards. So, point being, I need to hurry up and get my Christmas cards out and so does everyone else. (Feel free to add me to your Christmas card recipients list ;).

We are going to use Shutterfly this year because I am in love with pretty much all their card designs. The trouble is I can't decide which design to go with. Here are my favorites that I am deciding between.

They are all so cute! After I get done with my cards I also plan on ordering a photo calender for my mom. I made her one last year from Shutterfly and she loved it. I am not ruining any big surprise for her by blogging about it, I am pretty sure she is expecting another one this year. They are great gift ideas!

House update

The house is coming along nicely! Hopefully it is still on track to be finished on time.
Gates approved!
