Marine training

Chris got invited to go to Quantico, VA for a 3 day training course in Ethics.  Ethics?  Random, but Chris said it was an awesome experience that he learned more about Ethics in 3 days then you could possibly learn in a semester of college.  I picked his brain about every little detail of his trip because it all sounded so fascinating.  I would have loved to have experienced something like this my self except that they were out for 2 days in the woods going through military scenarios in cold weather and had to sleep outside, no tent in 20 degree weather.  I don’t do cold!  USA Today had a reporter there doing an article on it and took these pictures.   Here is a link to the article.

USA Today

Check it out because it does a much better job describing what it was all about then I do.

Lego Land

Chris has been dying to take the boys to Lego Land so we finally went to check it out.  We were worried that Gates would be to young to enjoy it but I thought he was the perfect age.  He loves the idea of Legos and the place was pretty simple.  Chris and I were disappointed, because I think we had really high expectations of the place but it was perfect for Gates and even the twins really enjoyed it.

Happy New Year

We had an awesome, out of the ordinary, New Years celebration at our house this year.   My girlfriends from college came to town with their families for a couple of nights.  We ate, drank, played Cards Against Humanity (Hilarious!), and tried to not lose any little ones.   New Years Eve the girls left the the guys with all the kids during nap time and went out for margaritas.  We came home just in time for a quick dinner with the guys and then the guys all went to the Chick-Fil-A bowl.  The girls and I put all the kiddos to bed, drank, laughed and remembered the good ole college days.  We forgot all about New Years eve at midnight and said that we would count down central time zone new years but again got distracted and forgot.  I think forgetting to count down is a true sign of having a good time!

Daddy tried to sleep in but not everyone was on board with that idea.

Hudson and Cole were introduced to Star Wars and were mesmerized.

Ellen decided at 1 something in the morning that we should do Yoga.  The alcohol in the rest of us said that was not a good idea.  The alcohol in Ellen told her to be mad at her friends for not participating.  It was all very comical!

Dempsey Christmas

Christmas was truly magical at our house.  Lots of unneeded toys.  A tent (a girly looking house), garbage truck, LOTS of Star Wars, airplanes, puzzles, leap pad, a firehouse, cash register and lots more.  It was a wonderful day of celebrating our Savior who has blessed us behind our needs.
